When you cancel a booking (particularly at the last minute), it creates a negative experience for the renter, who then has to be rebooked to a different car. This causes additional inconvenience to the renter. That said, we understand that life happens, and sometimes you might need to cancel a booking on your car. As a car owner, if you need to cancel a trip, you can avoid a cancellation fee by canceling more than 1 hour prior to the trip start time.
If you need to cancel a trip within 1 hour of the trip start time, an cancellation fee will be charged. This fee is charged to cover the costs of rebooking the affected renter to another car as well as a Happiness discount to compensate the renter for the hassle and lost time.
Cancellation fee structure:
- More than 60 minutes before the scheduled start time - NO PENALTY
- Less than 60 minutes but greater than 30 mins before the scheduled start time - 25% of hourly base fare
- Less than 30 minutes but before the scheduled start time - 50% of hourly base fare
- After the scheduled start time - 100% of hourly base fare.
